Do you have the best dorm in Wizard City?
Do you like to decorate?
The Best Little Dorm in Wizard City 2nd official contest starts now! Hurry! You only have until July 24th to enter.
This isn't just any little old decorating contest, though. There are twists and turns ahead!
First twist: Decorate your dorm to represent what you think a Summer fun theme dorm would be like.
The turn: You must use all 5 items below.
1. Any small pot with a seedling
2. Any type of stone column/pillar ( you only need one but can have many)
3. Water bucket crafted item (Wizard City)
4. Something green (floor ,walls or seeding will not count as this item).It can be anything else you want it to be.
5. Pet Dragon ( Wizard City must be yellow with Light blue) in color
Wait!There is one more twist to this contest.
Second twist:
Write 2 paragraphs -
Paragraph 1 -Will be about how your dorm represents the theme Summer fun.
Paragraph 2 - Will be about how you used the 5 special items in your dorm.
( No more than 5 lines will be allowed for each paragraph. You may add a title.)
Official Rules:
* Using all 5 items pictured above, you must decorate your dorm in a Summer Fun Theme.
* This contest begins July 10th, 2011 and ends July 24th, 2011 at 9pm(Wizard101) Central time.
* You may use as many other items as you wish to make your dorm complete.
* You may only enter once.
* 2 Paragraphs may not be more than 5 lines each.
* No more than 2 screenshots will be allowed (no videos), Your wizard must be in the sreenshots.
* All prizes will be awarded Via email.
* Nobody may win in more than one set of prizes.
* To be fair to all entries you must stay within the dorm room space. (If you use floating technique you must stay within the walls of your dorm room.)
* Your wizard name must be sent with your entry. ( no real names please)

Following the official rules posted above, you will decorate your dorm In a Summer fun theme and submit no more than 2 screen shots of your dorm along with your 2 paragraphs by July 24th, 2011 at 9:00 PM Central US time.
How do I submit entries? Send all entries to contest@paigemoonshade.com
( Please if you are under the age of 13 you need to have your parents or guardians permission.)
Late entries will not be accepted. You may not edit your entry. Please make sure it is correct before sending your entry in.
Any entry with more than 2 screenshots or more than 2(5 line) paragraphs will be immediately disqualified. No exceptions." No editing will be allowed on screenshots.
Please take you time and make sure everything is just how you want it.

were do you go to enter your dorm. for some reason contest@paigemoonshade.com does not seem to exist anyware on the internet. i tried google yahoo and prety much all other searches.

ReplyDeleteCaleb SilverFlame The only things that is allowed to be seen is the inside of the dorm. If you have to go outside the walls to take a screenshot that is not allowed. Fountains where you float them half way into walls are ok because you are still only showing what is inside the dorm room. You may go as high as you like but you must stay inside the dorm room area for images.

Answer:
Each para cannot be more than 5 lines long, not sentences. You can make them 2 lines if you like but cannot be more than 5 lines. You can write it in the message or in text file. Don't worry grammar is a part but not a big issue. Judges are looking for what you say about your dorm.

Answer: as long as he is in the room and you talk about him in 2nd paragraph ,as pet rules. All entries are judged fairly. Judges understand that some pictures might vary from graphic cards.

Ravenwood school dorm room. You must stay within the space. Yes you can go all the way to the ceiling. You must stay inside it. Floating an item to look like it is part of that wall is ok but you must show only the inside of your dorm room.

Answer: Its called water bucket crafted item from wizard city (old town merchant) and no they don't really. You have to craft it.

Answer: No does not matter which way your wizard is facing. Just let the judges see your dorm. If you want to angle your camera view see you see your wizard but more of the dorm that that okay too.

Answer: Sometimes when sending in emails sentences get made into smaller amount of lines . The judges will understand this. Max is 5 lines min 1.

Answer: I am truly sorry but I will have to say no. I would work together making one dorm really great. Prizes are in codes so If you win a category you can always divide the winnings.

Answer: On your keyboard there is a key Prt/Scr This will take a screenshot of your wizard101 game screen. Now go to documents and look for a file called Wizard101. Inside that file are all the images you ever took while playing.

ReplyDeleteI think that lines is confusing and some may think it means sentences. that's what happened to me since most of the time paragraphs are measured by sentences. could you be understanding to the people who thought it meant sentences? it isn't stated in the rules to be lines and not sentences. sorry, i just worked really hard and i would hate to get out for a little mix-up. thanks

Dear Paige, I have a dilema. My E-Mail Account includes my full name in it, and I'd rather not send it using that E-Mail - which is the only one I have. I have an Account on Central, so I was wondering if I could possibly send it to you on there instead? If not, do you know of any possible solutions?

Hey Paige, you might not be able to do any thing about this but just to let you know, the water bucket can only be crafted with a housing crafting table and there is know where in wizardcity to find that. i am non suscriber and cant go to krok, marleybone and stuff to buy one. I don't really expect a response of solution. suprise no one ask that

I have been watching the bazaar and I have seen them in there. You may also use a friends crafting station.
I tested this and you only have to finish Wizard City crafting quests and you can craft this bucket.

It would help if we could see them. I would Make sure you talk about them in the 2nd paragraph
By "five lines" in each paragraph, do you mean five sentences or five actual lines?

Victoria Spiritblossom: Just do you best. 5 lines is only a guide line to make sure we did not get full pages. We understand that when sending in entries sometimes these lines change. Lines as in lines on paper.

I am sorry I don't understand your question. Are you asking if you can edit your images? No, you cannot.

Dear Paige, I've read all comments now and the rules too but my dorm is laid out in such a way that to fully understand what's going on i would have to take 3 snapshots. I made a sort of half-and-half dorm with like 2 segments in it and i want to show 1 pic of 1 side, 1 pic of the other, and 1 pic of the whole dorm. Can I please do this, if not I'll try to find a way but it'll be very hard. :( Oh well... I hope i can send 3.

ReplyDeleteMichelle DarkStone: look under decorations I just bought one on my lower level wizard the other day. You must finish the crafting quests from Wizard city. You might of bought it already. I would check your recipes too. About images I would take a few but send in your 2 best images.

If they have the name column or pillar, yes. If they don't have the name column or pillar you will need to have one.

Can we just put our wizard's name at the top of the paragraphs, where the title is?
ReplyDeleteThe FB page didn't originally say that we couldn't enter more than one, so I entered three different wizards. However now that I've read this page, I realize I can only enter one. How do I fix this situation? Also when I sent my first entry, I forgot to attach the photos so I sent it again with the photos so it looks like NONE of my entries are going to count. Can I fix this problem or am I just out of luck?

If your wizard name is shown in your picture you are okay if you wizard name is just sent along with entry you are okay.
When you announce the winners, will you also tell us how many entries/correct entries there were? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious!

Also yes I'll say how many entries there was then.
There will be a new blog post on the 31st with the winners wizard names and images & paragraphs of the top 7.
I've read all the other comments and I don't believe this has been asked before, could I cast a gardening spell (not necessarily on a plant) anywhere in my dorm to enhance the screenshot? For example, casting the sun (forgot what it's called) spell to give it a more "summery" feel.
ReplyDeletemerlin : you sure can to make your dorm unique. As long as you follow the no editing screen shots and you have the 5 special items you can have as many other things you want. Remember to talk about your dorm as per rules.

Its fine. Sometimes lines get pushed together or very far apart.
